Someone was asking about this question in the Rants Forum, I thought it might be interesting to find out. I started posting in May of 2003. woohoo.gif

I have no recollection whatsoever. If anyone remembers me as TalkingDonkey, let me know when I started posting. I'm think it was either late 2003 or early 2004, but my memory is for shit, so I really don't know.

In late Feb 2004 you posted a pic of a large, bloody potato being pulled out of a presumably human butthole (during most people's lunch hour). That was your first post and you haven't topped it yet.

I started posting in December of 2003. I don't recall what my first post was, though.

And I am SO glad I missed Talking Donkey's first post. Wendytwitch.gif

Oh yeah! I remember now! Heh... that was fucking hilarious.

I started posting here in Feb of 2004 as Moreover the Dog, got piled on for trying to run off a 12 year old girl who I felt had no biz being here, started a flamewar, committed board suicide, tried to later come back, couldn't because the account was locked, created a new profile named Muggy Knubber, dedicated myself to not pissing off everyone at me (as much), succeeded only in the sense that I rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, and changed my name to Mo Biggsley with the start of the new board.

I remember that I signed up in late 2002. I know it took me a while to make my first post, though.

Posted by: Ro-bear Jan 19 2005, 03:05 PM
I started posting in the Testimonies section in late '03. Hung out with Jevers and Catholic Girl and Tomkins and Dharmadarwin. Finally posted my own testimony and registered in April '04.

Posted by: Fyrefly Jan 19 2005, 08:56 PM
If I recall correctly, I joined in November 2003.

Registered May 23rd, 2004 a little after 11pm eastern. I posted my testimony that night I think.

Totally. That's the join date for this board. I'm pretty sure you were on the old board before I was Woodsmoke.

My very first post in the forum was on January 24, 2004.
I think it was sometime around 4:00 in the morning.

Before that, I used to hang out on the front page of the
site adding my two cents to the articles posted there.
Eventually, I clicked on the words 'Open Forum' and
wouldn't you know it, things just haven't been the
same since. GONZ9729CustomImage1539775.gif

May 1, 2004. I posted the "Official Guidelines of Proof" as a first post, but as a guest.

I miss that gem. Where the heck did SteveFDL go?

I started reading sometime around the middle of 2003 I think, but I had a bunch of stuff going on and I felt guilty for reading it as I was tryign to salvage what was left of my salvation. I read everything on the front page pretty much, then read some of the forums. I remember everyone bashing on this one christian asshole and when he just called everyone haters about 5 people were like 'if you were a christian like Reach nobody would hate you'.

I really wanted to join but I knew I would waste tons and tons of time here if I did so I decided not to. I did officially stop going to church in late 2003, firmly told my wife I didn't believe in the bible anymore and I wouldn't be going to church. She said god was calling her to teach bible studies and such and felt like we were going in two opposite directions. That's when she said she could see evil spirits oppressing me.

A few months later she told me it was time for us to give up and accept that our marriage was over, and I agreed. We parted ways in June of 04 and I spent the next few months getting my shit together and then remembered the cool community over here. I read for about 2 weeks in the forums and decided there were just so many funny things I wanted to respond to, that I had to join up. Mostly for the sex forum though.

That was early sept '04. Shortly after, the new boards went up. I'm hooked.

Found the site in late 2003 sometime, and started commentine on testimonies in Feb 2004. Didn't register on forums until June 2004.

Posted by: Tocis Jan 20 2005, 04:11 AM
Found the site via google in Nov 2003, posted my testimony on Nov 6th (IIRC), joined toward the end of '03.

First post, November 30, 2003...

Fond memories, here. I remember that in a 20 day period, Loren, Lokmer, Kitty and I signed on and started posting. My relationships with them and a couple others, specifically, altered my life in major, positive ways and for that, I'm in their debt.

Pitchu had been here for about a month. I was a committed Christian at the time, but seeking the truth, whatever the cost. She scared the hell out of me. I knew I'd face her eventually and I did. I survived. FrogsToadBigGrin.gif

I finally posted a deconversion story on June 1, 2004.

I won't name the many others who were already here; most of them are still here. Delightful new members jumped in and breathed fresh air into the community. And so the cycle continues...

All I can say is that I fell in love with the people here, and I stayed.

Ever grateful,
Reach

I remember not when first I began posting. Had to be some time in mid-to-late '03, because I was totally gone for the first half of 2004, and by then I had already established a reputation around here.

Oh, look what I found!

Neil,

Congratulations on ONE YEAR at EX-C!

Yeah, I'm a day late but wanted to say it anyway. Really glad you're back!

It's been a year already? Krikee!

Thought this might ring a bell. I got it from http://exchristian.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=443&hl=when+dr\.+neil+speaks

I just couldn't resist. I have to maintain my reputation around here. LeslieLook.gif

I am happy you remembered we were here.

I can't remember when I first began posting here but the funny thing is that I definitely remember when I deconverted. It was precisely a year before Kitty started posting!

I hereby officially apologize, Reach. (But I do remember it as a stellar engagement of... er... um... Life Views. happydance.gif )

I started out as Satan's Spawn with my first wounded-snarling-beast posts -- beginning on September 19, 2003 -- but from the first I was lucky enough to have, and to count on, TF's unflagging friendship. And dear Sonny-Wood's sunny woodsiness. And IBF's humor and gentleness. And Conster's WTF-do-you-want?! attitude to keep myself in perspective. And Chef's easy/cranky wit. And Zach's intellectual purity. And Doug2's wry genuineness. And words that seemed to be electric visuals from Likeafish.

Boy, was I lucky.

And still am.

Thanks, Dave.

Thanks Kitty,

I realize that I have been an apostate for 2 years going strong. I never thought I would wind up an atheist though. Funny. I once registered as a Deist at the IIDB discussion board and someone predicted that I would become an atheist.

My first post here was as an unregistered user on Nov 3 or 4, 2003, entitled "The Central Problem with Atheism," and was a debate thread about eugenics, which I saw as the cheif moral peril of atheism. Likeafish (man, I do miss that guy) promptly walloped me a good one for confusing atheism with a particular flavor of Social Darwinism. I registered on Nov 6, 2003 to post more (because I wanted to be able to search and reference my posts). I still have the registration email.

In the month or so after I registered, I met Reach, bumped into Loren (whom I'd later get to know better), played more with Kitty that I was doing at home (in fact, this board gave us the place we needed to end our marriage and start it again on new terms), met and grew very close to Lanakila, and several others....all of whom have made my life incalculably richer and really have filled the vacuum of meaning and connectedness that my apostasy created.

My eternal gratitue to you, my dearest friends, and to Dave for his inspired creation and stewardship of this place.

I made my first post here about 2 weeks before Woodsmoke did - I can say that because I showed him the site, and then he became addicted to it Wendyloser.gif

But I've been through at least 4 accounts, kept losing passwords Wendyloser.gif
