Yes - refreshing to hear people talk about sex in phrases longer than "dude, I could sooo do her." Having three younger chauvanistic brothers does have its trying times.

Please, ladies, continue ;)

Put down homosexual male (in case this was not already obvious.) It is not as clear-cut as that, though. I am more like 90-95% gay with the 5-10% straight sort of attraction, technically bisexual, but to me small enough that I pretty much consider myself gay, and publicly identify myself as that, as it is easier in some ways. Hope that makes sense to others here.

That's not just a gay male thing - straight men are allowed to do it too. Just do it unselfconsciously and honestly, and you'll do fine. Tact is important too.

But seriously, one of the biggest mistakes men make with women is not treating them like real people. Most men treat them either as dirty objects or pure objects, at least in some measure. I'm a big fan of women - they are delightful creatures and often deeply sexy, but in the end they are people before and after everything else. Treat a woman-friend or just any woman with the same respect, playfulness, gravity, and honesty that you would treat anyone (or as you would wish to be treated) and you don't have to worry too much about "saying the wrong thing." After all, a woman who is so shallow that she'll toss you over after one verbal faux pas is the female variety of the man who won't talk to a woman whose tits aren't big enough for him. That kind of thing is unattractive in any gender, and a person like that is rarely worth anyone's serious attention.

No problems with that here...

I suspect, MK, that the reason gay men are able to say anything at all to women is mostly that they are not trying to be anything other than friends, and therefore are not compelled to hold back on something for fear that it will ruin their chances at sex or romance. Men and women often hold back and resort to little white lies and half-truths in the interests of keeping the peace in the midst of a love affair (or even a friendship). That doesn't work long term, and in the end hurts the people and the relationship far more than the honest truth would have.

That said, I also suspect that at least some women are more accepting of criticism and brutal honesty from other women and gay men than they are from straight men because past experience taught them to see straight men as a threat.

Hhmmm, Male, last time I checked,

Bi-sexual consisting of 30% hetero to 70% gay.

The hetero part of me seems to be slowly decaying with age. I tend to find women more attractive in a social sense; loadsa fun to chat with, whereas males I find a have a more fervent aesthetic attraction for me. There's nothing quite like a well-sculpted male body. For me, the perfect male form is demonstratedby the Shao-Lin monks; although I'm not much of a fan of the baldness, the sheer elegance and litheness of their bodies is jaw-dropping.

My sexual orientation wouldn't matter much to him (as long as I still found him desirable). A gender switch would probably be harder for him to handle, although he's been known to switch hit in the past.

I really was just rebelling against being labelled since I think sexuality is too complex to fit under a couple of labels, and can be fluid in some folks as well.

I really am suprised that at this point (35 responses) there are 23% who identify as homosexual and 37% who are homosexual or bisexual.

I wonder what's going on - are gays more likely to answer these types of survey question or to be exchristian? Have the Fab Five converted much of the world in one short season?

Do I have to come down to Texas and give you a good thrashing?

I think you may have misunderstood me. I DO say what is on my mind to women, I just don't get away with it as easily as gay dudes do. That's all. If I tell my girlfriend she has put on a few pounds, her clothing is out of style or altogether uninteresting, or that her hair needs help, I get called an asshole. If her gay cousin tells her exactly the same thing, she wants his advise.

In that instance, I would say that she is more accepting of advice on her appearance from someone who is not an actual or potential sexual partner. She doesn't want to hear you say you think she's getting fat because she needs you to see her as attractive and sexy.

However, a gay guy or another woman is simply a co-conspirator towards the goal of looking sexually attractive to those who she seeks to attract.

At least she's not bisexual. Then no one could tell her she's getting fat.

LMAO. If she is a woman she isn't blind to the fact, and no one need tell her anything. Gaining weight is hard enough on the ego, the last thing you need is someone telling you that you are fat. When will guys realize this. Women and gay men can say: that outfit makes your ass look a mile wide (if you are friends that is), but saying you are fat to even a female friend is downright offensive.

I answered hetero male but I think (without intending offence to the author) that the poll might have been more accurate and interesting if we had to assign a percentage to our straight/gay tendancies. I honestly think that everyone has both in varying quantities.
Myself, I am about as straight as my first car: always took me unerringly right down the road but very occasionally developed a small wobble. hehe
I think that's about as straight as anybody can be and still be honest.
>99% hetero, <1% gay
While I can appreciate a good looking guys looks, I haven't felt any attraction to any one in years...and has yet to evolve into lust.
