I read a recent article about grumblings from the west and east coasts toward secession. Ha ha Lincoln worshipers! Now you get to be screwed too! Ah sweet, sweet secession. If only... |

Can you find ANYTHING at all on fucktheNORTH? I would love to send this to my Texan relatives, but I'd hate to get slammed back with a list that details our screw-ups. |

Well, as a southerner, albeit not a deep-south southerner, all I have to say is . . . That cracked me up. If I don't move to Canada, I certainly plan to move a wee bit further north as soon as I have the opportunity. Thanks for the post! Libertus |

The title of this thread is a little misleading. It might take awhile to fuck the whole south, and if this thread was about someone trying it should be in the sex forum. |

hahahahaha that was fucking great. |

I think every area has its problems. The south is not as bad as people claim but then again I live in huntsville wich is more or less the most secular city because of all the high paying defense and nasa jobs that are here. I been to Boston and to Newyork and those were not very positive experinces. Every area has its percentage of rude poeple and I hate to say it and that the north has us beat on that. The biggest reason why religion has gotton such a strong foot hold is from tradition and lack of a strong economic foundation. You can be self reliant all you want but if you dont have opportunities then you still wont get as far.Where are most of the high paying jobs located at? Not here unless you go to the bigger cities like Atlanta or luck out and get a union job. The biggest religious issues are from the rual parts and that is because there is not much as far as jobs go but from the last tweenty years it has started to get better. |

That's really, really scary. Because I was thinking the exact same thing. |

Is that the dulcet sound of banjo and pigs squealing that I hear? |

Southern culture sux. My father is a big time confederate and Nazi antique dealer, ( hey I got the chance to wear Herman Gerrings personal engraved ring! And hold a gun that hitler gave to his general!) anytime I visit all I hear is complaints about how blacks and mexicans are too blame for every thing, how the south was right. I went to a sunday night southern baptist church a few months ago. the preacher spent the whole sermon pointing and looking at me while he was preaching about the reality of HEll. then I left for the bathroom and came back to find my father and sisters praying for my salvation. screw the south. |
Posted by: spamandham Dec 15 2004, 02:27 PM
If it were me, I wouldn't have returned. The funny thing is, a lot of people in the south want to secede still. Can't we all just agree this union thing was a stupid idea and go our separate ways? |
Posted by: Heimdall Dec 15 2004, 02:46 PM
You seem to forget that at least half of the colonies that founded this country were southern and more than half of the founding fathers were southern..... |
Posted by: Casey Dec 15 2004, 02:48 PM |
I must say I am very grateful Australia never got round to having a Civil War. I don't know why it's called that. I should think wars are civil to nobody, least of all to their participants. Casey |

Entertaining, but not entirely accurate. Four of the first five presidents were southerners, including Washington and Jefferson. Also, Virginia was settled some thirteen years earlier than Massachusetts. But these are small things. Are southerners morons? Yes! And, as a native Tennessean, I should know. I'm one of the smart ones, though. |

Hey there friend in Ohio (from your friend in Oklahoma). This is just all talk...I only had one person that came down from the north to fuck the south... |

Thanks Asimov! I needed that! I moved to the south (NC) 3 years ago from Michigan, the blue union state. Yes, people down here are nice, unless they find out that you're not a bleeding red republican. I've had men be sweet as pie to me until they saw my anti-W bumper sticker (Yes! I display it proudly). Then they pounced on me like you wouldn't believe. And, don't you dare argue! They're right and you're wrong!! I'm so sick and tired of Republicans forcing their crazy beliefs down my throat. They're crazy. They go psycho about it. My husband had a guy ask him if he was a democrat, and the guy told him that if he was, he wouldn't do business with him. Grow up!! And, OH MY GOD, I am so sick and tired of seeing that "W" sticker on almost every car I see! Somebody save me from this southern nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ellen |

They should call it the Stoopid American War. |

Sorry that I have been gone for quite awhile. It is good to see ExChristian.NET is still running. I am a native Texan, descended from Southerners who built Texas. That beeing said, this rant about red vs. blue states is rediculous. The designation of a Red or Blue state designation is simplistic and is based upon the "winner take all" system of our electoral college. If a person actually looks at the percentages of votes by districts, counties or even states, the actual color of almost every entity is purple. Another thing to keep in mind is that all over the country, in "red" states, there were Democrats, Libertarians and Independents elected to offices at almost every level. The problem with the election is the Democratic National Committee, not with the grass root democratic parties. The DNC/DLC is disconnected from the avergae person. (So is the GOP, but they disquise their contempt for the average person). One example of this is the gun control issue. Guns, whether one likes it or not, is a part of the American culture, even more so in the south and west. A reasonable person, which I like to think I am, understands the need for common sensical controls on weapons. For instance, a citizen has no need for heavy combat weapons, artillery, etc. As a life long hunter and ranch owner, I own several rifles and shotguns. I have no need to use a combat automatic weapon to hunt deer or control predators. I and most outdoorsmen that I know have no problem with limiting automatic weapons to law enforcement, licensed collectors, etc. The problem is that the groups advocating gun control are actually interested banning all firearms. One only has to read their position papers of these various groups. the methodology is to gradually ban firearms, one category at a time. Eventually, according to their mindset, no one will have firearms and Americans will live in harmony together. While most people that live in large cities have very little use for rifles/shotguns on a daily basis, a great many people who live in rural sreas and small towns do. It makes no sense to take away the guns that I own and use legally, as a ranch owner and hunter, because criminals use guns. More people die from car accidents each year than from guns, but no one pushes to outlaw cars, but to punish the drivers who act irresponsibly. As long as the DNC/DLC keeps pandering to the far left, they will never get a national candidate elected. Where the Democrats have succeeded, it has been in supporting middle of the road, moderates (Carter, Clinton, etc.). Contrary to popular belief and lots of stereotyping, most southerners are not backward morons out burning crosses at weekly KKK meetings. Most Southerners are live and let live kind of people, who are very cognizant of our rights and responsibilities. contrary to popular belief, the largest KKK organization is in Indiana and Ohio, which last time I checked were northern states. In my opinion, most southerners are just like most other Americans, we are middle of the road folks, with a variation of beliefs. I hope that people would reflect on reality a bit more before making blanket indictments of southerners, northerners, or anyone else. //Bruce// |

Hi Bruce. Good to see you back. I won't tear up your heart felt defense. The WebMaster is sick of political squabbles. Of course I live just about as far north as you can get in the 48! |
Posted by: BigToe Dec 15 2004, 09:59 PM |
i think bickering about red v blue north v south dem v rep or whatever else is entirely too childish frankly. i have plenty of die hard republican friends that dont treat me any differently than when they found out i wasnt one. they are still nice and all that. i've also met plenty of democrats who were entirely too dumb to be breathing my same air and were assholes to boot. so one's party or state of residence doesn't really dictate the quality of person of the individual. i just love stereotypes. they're all stupid |

The 1st portion of this statement is verifiably false. 13 colonies: Massachusetts New Hampshire Connecticut Rhode Island New York New Jersey Delaware Pennsylvania Maryland Virginia North Carolina South Carolina Georgia Original states which seceded from the union: Virginia (West Virginia seceded from Virginia during the civil war and joined the union) North Carolina South Carolina Georgia 4 out of 13 is not "at least half" by any math I know. It's 30.7692307692% according to my old TI-85. |

SS, I think you're confusing "founding states" with "founding fathers." It is, in fact, true, that many of the most important founding fathers were from Virginia, which is a southern state. I love the south for senic beauty (though I could do without the weather). The culture is enjoyable for brief visits, but to stay longer is to grow to hate it - for me the thing that drives me nuts is the cognative dissonance between basically decent (and often exceedingly kind and hospitable) people and the very deep-seated prejudices that they harbor (not talking racial prejudice particularly - there is a southern mindset that you have to "get" if you are to stay. I've lived there - I can't get into it). The southern culture has a lot in common with the victorian in this sense - and it drives me crazy. But the thing that gets me most is the knowledge that most of the people I am close to in CA - academics, racially blended people, homosexuals/bisexuals, theater people, feminist-leaning women - are not welcome in the deep south. And THAT is utterly tragic. -Lokmer |

Hey thar Bruce - Heimdall is back too! Now, we need to resurrect Robertus and we will have the "Unholy Trinity" back in action! Dr. Evil awaits your further wisdom! |
Posted by: SmallStone Dec 16 2004, 06:12 AM
Nope. I addressed the claim that 'at least half of the founding colonies were southern'. It's not my intent to start a squabble either. I do sincerely hope though that if I make absurd claims regarding history, or any other topic, that one of you will set me straight.
I agree, which is why I did not address the founding fathers claim. |

Hey, the South may leave us yet
|
Posted by: Heimdall Dec 16 2004, 10:44 AM |
Delaware - considers itself southern (lived there 13 years) and missed joining the CSA by one vote in their Senate...Union kept two battalions stationed there throughout the war to insure their loyalty! Maryland - considers itself a southern state to this day. Belonging to the CSA does not a southern state make! Virginia - capitol of the CSA North Carolina - was and is a southern state South Carolina - was and is a southern state Georgia - was and is a southern state That's six out of 13 colonies, which is as close to one half as you can get on an odd number (46 %). So my statement stands - half of the colonies were southern! When I say sometime, you can usually make book on it! - Heimdall |
Posted by: Ro-bear Dec 16 2004, 02:36 PM |
What a silly argument. Southerners are often ignorant; so are northerners. Northerners are often ill-mannered; so are southerners. I'm a southerner, and I didn't vote for the asshole. Why don't we divide ourselves along ideological, rather than geographic, lines. I live in the South, and I need you blue-staters to help me bring more southerners kicking and screaming into the current century. Don't leave us, and don't let us leave you! |

guys....it was meant for humour.... you know those panties you're wearing...untwist em. |

My apologies Heimdall. I should have asked what definition of 'south' you were using. We'll have to agree to disagree about what constitutes 'half'. |

Damn...that's what the problem is! OUCH! That hurt....okay, much better now. Actually, I wasn't angered by this because most here know what Ro-bear said is true. It is all in fun and I also make fun of my own state from time to time....to time...to time...erm...no worries... |

But it hurts so good! |
